Einstein Universes Stabilized

چکیده
The hypothesis that gravitational self-binding energy may be the source for the vacuum energy term of cosmology is studied in a Newtonian Ansatz. For spherical spaces the attractive force of gravitation and the negative pressure of the vacuum energy term form a self stabilizing system under very reasonable restrictions for the parameters, among them a characteristic coefficient β of self energy. In the Weyl geometric approach to cosmological redshift, Einstein-Weyl universes with observational restrictions of the curvature parameters are dynamically stable, if β is about 40% smaller than in the exact Newton Ansatz or if the space geometry is elliptical.

Recurrent Acceleration in Dilaton - Axion Cosmology
A class of Einstein-dilaton-axion models is found for which almost all flat expanding homogeneous and isotropic universes undergo recurrent periods of acceleration. We also extend recent results on eternally accelerating open universes.
متن کاملAccelerating universes from compactification on a warped conifold.
We find a cosmological solution corresponding to the compactification of 10D supergravity on a warped conifold that easily circumvents the "no-go" theorem given for a warped or flux compactification, providing new perspectives for the study of supergravity or superstring theory in cosmological backgrounds. With fixed volume moduli of the internal space, the model can explain a physical Universe...
متن کاملString Theory and Quantum Equation
String theorists Neil Turok of Cambridge University and Paul Steinhardt, Albert Einstein Professor in Science and Director of the Center for Theoretical Science at Princeton believe that the cosmos we see as the result of a Big Bang was actually created by the cyclical trillion-year collision of two universes (which they define as three-dimensional branes plus time) that were attracted toward e...
متن کاملTwo Open Universes Connected by a Wormhole: Exact Solutions
In this paper I present a spacetime of two open universes connected by a Lorentzian wormhole. The spacetime has the following features: (1) It can exactly solve the Einstein equations; (2) The weak energy condition is satisfied everywhere; (3) It has a topology of R2 × Tg (g ≥ 2); (4) It has no event horizons.
متن کاملCosmological Spacetimes Balanced by a Scale Covariant Scalar Field
A scale invariant, Weyl geometric, Lagrangian approach to cosmology is explored, with a a scalar field φ of (scale) weight −1 as a crucial ingredient besides classical matter (Tann 1998, Drechsler 1999). For a particularly simple class of Weyl geometric models (called Einstein-Weyl universes) the Klein-Gordon equation for φ is explicitly solvable. In this case the energy-stress tensor of the sc...
